About the Library

BOOKS - The library's current holdings are approximately 25,000.  Books may be checked out for two weeks and most can be renewed.  There is a late charge of five cents per day. See if the book you need is in our library. Click here.

PERIODICALS – The Dobie Library has online access to over a thousand titles through its databases.  In-house, the library subscribes to over 100 titles. Magazines may be used in the library and checked out overnight. The current week's Houston Chronicle is located in a rack near the entrance to the library. Older newspaper issues are kept in a "Current Events" box for clipping.

E-Books – Coming soon to our library, but currently limited to the district’s Professional Library.

COMPUTERS - The library has 34 computers for student use. The student's I.D. card must be visible while using a computer. The district's Acceptable Use Policy can be viewed by clicking on this link.

COPY MACHINES - There are two coin-operated machines: one for paper copies and one for computer printing. Copies are ten (10) cents each.
